Cinnamon roll apple pie? Who would have thought? Even with all the sweet, cinnamon goodness in apple pie, you never see this in stores. This needs to be a thing EVERYWHERE.

I was thinking about apple pie today, and remembered seeing a cinnamon roll apple pie on Facebook a LONG time ago (like 4 years ago). It was just a picture of an apple pie that used cinnamon rolls for the crust. I never saved it because it didn’t have a recipe or any directions. I have been thinking about this pie all day and decided to wing it. This was the result:

Cinnamon Roll Apple Pie is a delicious change-up from the traditional apple pies everyone else makes.

I made it with store bought cinnamon rolls and icing, but am dying to try it with my recipe.

Cinnamon Roll Apple Pie

  • 2 cans of cinnamon rolls (or your preferred recipe with icing)
  • apple pie filling
  1. Liberally spray a pie pan with cooking spray.
  2. Flatten all of the rolls in one can, covering the entire bottom/sides of the pie pan. Pinch them together to seal the “crust” into one piece.
  3. Fill with the pie filling.
  4. Flatten the rolls in the remaining can and cover the filling. Pinch to the rolls on the bottom to seal the 2 “crusts” together.
  5. Bake at 350° F for 30-45 minutes, watching for over browning of the rolls. (I almost burned it!)
  6. Remove from oven and allow to cool slightly before icing. I waited about 10 minutes because it smelled SO good! I couldn’t wait any longer!
  7. Cut and enjoy!

This is DELICIOUS when served with a scoop (or two) of vanilla ice cream. Yummy! Honestly, who can resist apple pie? I can’t, and this Cinnamon Roll Apple Pie just made it that much harder!

Cinnamon Roll Apple Pie is a delicious variation of the apple pie everyone else makes. Wonderful served with a scoop or two of vanilla ice cream!
